The ITE TSU Student
Chapter will have our first meeting
for the new semester on Thursday,
Oct. 4th, 2007.
The issues going to be discussed include fund raising,
new membership, upcoming ITE winter meeting, etc.

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Founded in 1930, represents
one of the largest and fastest-growing multimodal organizations worldwide. ITE
currently has over 70 local chapters and 90 student chapters combining
professionals with back grounds in traffic engineering, transportation planning
and various other areas that help our society in meeting the need for safe and
efficient surface transportation system. Through local, national, and
international this organization is able to create a system of information
exchange, participation, and networking.

Advised by Dr. Carol A. Lewis and Dr. Fengxiang Qiao the Texas Southern University chapter of ITE
strives to promote the aspects of transportation among students at the
university and the surrounding community. For the year 2007-2008, it is the goal
of TSU's student chapter to increase chapter membership, foster the development
of professional spirit, and promote a sense of awareness to the various aspects
of transportation. Most importantly, the TSU student chapter hopes to bring to
the forefront TSU's Transportation Management and Planning Department.
