Mr. Hanzhen Wang, a graduate student in Department of Transportation Studies at TSU, received the 1st place 2020 ITS Texas Scholarship during the Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) of Texas 2020 annual virtual meeting on November 10, 2020. Hanzhen is currently enrolled in the master’s degree program of Transportation Planning and Management under the mentoring of his advisor Dr. Fengxiang Qiao. Hanzhen is also the president of ITS TSU Student Chapter, which is affiliated to ITS Texas as an advocacy group for the development and deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems at TSU.
During his more than one year stay at TSU, Mr. Hanzhen Wang actively participated one Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) / Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) research project and one Transportation Research Board (TRB) NCHRP IDEA project. He has published one research paper, one editorial article, and one American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) International Conference on Transportation & Development paper accepted for presentation and publication in the conference proceedings, together with another research paper submitted to an international journal under reviewing. Mr. Hanzhen Wang also presented his research products in the 2020 TRB Annual Meeting in Washington DC, and in the 2019 ITS Texas Annual Meeting in Irving, TX, with another poster has been accepted to present in the 2021 TRB Annual Meeting virtually. His GPA so far is 4.0/4.0.
